Pastor Garth G.Gittens

The Lord has blessed Pastor Gittens as a gifted communicator of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has gained considerable success in ministry. Pastor Gittens has been a Senior Pastor, Church Planner, and Bible School Lecturer for a number of years. As an itinerant preacher, Pastor Gittens has traveled extensively while completing workshops, training sessions, and revivals in the Caribbean, South America, England, Canada, and throughout the United States. He also lectured at the National Baptist Conventions where he trained Pastors and church leaders in the areas of church growth.Pastor Garth G. Gittens is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Gittens came to us with high academic credentials. He’s a trained Quantity Surveyor and also holds his undergraduate degree in Pastoral Theology, with a major in Biblical Greek content. Pastor Gittens is a graduate of Wheaton College Graduate School with a Masters of Arts in Theology majoring in Biblical Languages. The Pastor’s Post Graduate studies occurred at Northern Illinois University where he received his Doctorate in Education (Ed.D). Pastor Gittens is an anointed and dynamic Bible Teacher and Preacher who holds tenaciously to the biblical standard for marriage, particularly, the standard for pastors found in 1st Timothy 3:1-7. Pastor married his Childhood sweetheart First Lady Evangelist Dr. Gillian Gittens. They have two sons, a daughter in-law, and 5 beautiful granddaughters. Our Daughter church, CBC South Jersey is currently led by Pastor Andre and First Lady Adrienne Gittens their five daughters are A’kiyah, Amara, Alana, Andrea and Aria Gittens. While, Pastor Gabe Gittens is the current Youth and Assistant Pastor of Calvary Philly.

Gillian Gittens

Evangelist Gillian Gittens is the First Lady of Calvary Baptist Church of West Philadelphia, she works in tandem with her husband and Pastor, Dr. Garth G. Gittens.

She is currently the Director of Calvary’s Children’s Church, head of the Women’s Ministry and the Women’s Intercessory Prayer and Altar Ministry. Evangelist Gittens married her childhood sweetheart and together they have two children; André, 28 a graduate of Portland State University with a Bachelors in Bio Chemistry who is currently pursuing a Masters in Biblical Studies at Westminister and presently employed as a Senior Quality Control Chemist with Auxilium an Pharmaceuticals and Gabriel, 16 an insightful high school student with an inquiring mind.

As the last grandchild of a Baptist Pastor, Evangelist Gillian grew up in a protected religious environment. She is a minister in her own right and conducts teaching seminars, revivals and ministers at women’s conventions both at home and abroad.

At the Baccalaureate level, Evangelist Gittens graduated Magna-Cum-Laude having a Masters in Biblical Studies and Christian Counseling from Hans. University. Special recognitions include: Who’s Who among American Students in American University and Colleges, and an All-American Scholar. Evangelist Gittens has simultaneously earned several awards and scholarships. Professionally, she is a certified Counselor/Social Worker and is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Christian Counseling at Trinity University and Seminary.

As the President of the Pennsylvania Eastern Keystone Baptist Association Women’s Division, Evangelist Gittens is known for her strong leadership and direction, fresh ideas and excitement. She is committed to ‘getting the job done’, encouraging all in her staff and unifying women everywhere to accomplish all that is within their ability with in reach (developing and utilizing the gifts and power inside of you) and outreach for the Cause of Jesus Christ through the preaching, teaching, and work of the Gospel.
